About HVAC in Banner Elk, NC

Banner Elk, NC sits in a state with two genuinely different climates, and the right system depends which one you are in.

The mountains need real heating and modest cooling. The coastal plain needs long humid cooling and very little heat. Equipment that suits one is a poor fit for the other, which is why a load calculation matters more here than a rule about square footage.

What we do

• Heat pumps. Across much of this state they are the sensible choice, handling heating efficiently through mild winters while providing the cooling the summer demands. In colder parts, backup heat becomes part of the design rather than an afterthought.
• Cooling and humidity. Summers here are humid enough that moisture removal, not temperature, decides whether a house feels comfortable.
• Repair. Diagnosis before quoting. Pao Card sees failed capacitors, blocked condensate drains, and slow refrigerant leaks that a household adapts to without noticing.
• Ductwork. Crawl space ducts are common here and lose a great deal when they leak into humid air under the house.

How we work

Written pricing before work begins. Technicians who explain what they found. Honest guidance on repair versus replace, including when replacing early makes financial sense because a coil has corroded through.
